Psychotherapy would be completely unnecessary if we all didn’t live in Capitalist Hell.
„It is no sign of mental health to be well-adjusted to a profoundly sick society.” – Krishnamurti
Yes, because every problem in the world is caused by money. Humans are completely perfect without money, and without it every problem in the universe would be solved. Remember dollars are devils.
Undoubtedly some of the problems addressed in therapy are to do with society, not the individual: but it still may be worth discussing them with a person.
That isn’t quite accurate, at least here I live (Brazil). There is a lot of professionals that use therapy to really make mind games with their clients or that just want putting their beliefs in others and telling them, they are living their lives in a wrong way. No more awful is when some create fairy tales to people, telling them all will be fine and making no good at all, treating people like children, insulting their intelligence.
It’s not like taking your car to the garage for a tune up. There are different sorts of therapy. It is also subject to fads. I would no more trust a psychotherapist with my mind than I’d trust a conman with my money. Just read books and figure it out for yourself.
Do you agree with them?
